I started planning a new lap quilt for me as a way to try out to find a pattern that is both interesting and fast. I will have around fifteen quilts to make for graduation next year, and I want them to be nice, but I also don’t want to be overburdened with the task of making them. I really liked the pattern I used for my latest bed quilt, but 12″ squares are too large for a lap quilt. So I’m trying it out with 9″ squares. That still means 24 squares per quilt, but only 16 of them would be sewn, and those would be relatively easy to make. After cutting fabric, I went off to teach my bridge class. I came home and started another book.
