Sunday August 18, 2013

I follow a blog called The Sunday Whirl which posts a dozen words each week for poets and writers to use as prompts. I have written Wordle poems in the past but not for a long time. I decided to give it a try again and I had fun writing a poem which I have posted on my poetry blog. I also read the poems that others have posted and it was a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning. I spent the afternoon reading the first book in a fantasy trilogy and then I wrote a review for it. Yesterday I picked another two figs, once again using a ladder, wondering if they always ripen in pairs. Anyway, they were, as before, very delicious. And two nights ago I started reading parts of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. I have now read “The Prologue,” and I am working my way through “The Wife of Bath’s Tale.” I am really enjoying them, more than I ever have before, which is quite wonderful.
