I didn’t have any students at Student Link this morning, so I catalogued sixteen books from our recent donations instead. It wasn’t as much fun as tutoring, but definitely needed. Eglantine (my 2001 red beetle) has been very slow starting lately. I drive so little that she ends up needing a new battery each year. I got through last year because it never got cold, but I think the battery is now on its last legs. Tuesday morning is always the hardest as I don’t drive from noon Friday until Tuesday morning and apparently we got our first frost last night. Anyway, I did get her started to go to Student Link (about a mile away) and then barely got her going to come home. I let her run for a bit after I got home and she did start more easily when it was time to go to my therapy appointment, but I know that soon I will be calling AAA, which will make life very interesting as I suspect she’ll be in the shop for a day or so. Each morning will be a guessing game! A friend suggested trying to see if the garage could give me a Friday afternoon appointment (usually they are booking two weeks out), but I pointed out that Friday is the first day of NaNoWriMo and I am going to spend the afternoon writing the opening of my novel! I am excited and there are just two days until the month of novel writing begins!! My Tuesday student needed to shift his time until 4:30, so I was able to take a nap and also finish the novel I’ve been reading. I am not going to get the review done until probably Thursday as tomorrow I have not only Student Link, but also the monthly bridge game after which I have a student to tutor, but I’m sure that will be okay. It was a great book! I helped my student with his college application essay, and I can’t believe how fast time has flown. I’ve been working with him since 8th grade and now he is a senior!
