It is starting to get really cold and we will have lows in the 20’s, low 20’s by Friday and Saturday, so each morning it will be a guess as to whether or not I can take a shower (my shower is outside and generally doesn’t freeze if the daytime temperatures get above freezing which they are supposed to do). How’s that for excitement? I worked at Student Link this morning and there weren’t many students so I had time to mark all the papers and even shelve the books that needed shelving. After lunch I went to my therapy appointment and then came home and wrote a review for the book I finished yesterday before I started another. One student canceled, but I still had my Latin student and we read the beginning of the story of Atalanta and Hippomenes.

  1. I was very skeptical the first time (Feb. 2009) but had no choice as my bathroom was being remodeled, but now I love it and it is my favorite time of the day. The secret is lots of hot water!

  2. I read somewhere…that Katharine Hepburn – while I don’t think she showered outside… she always showered with cold water. That was how she was brought up. She said something like; It was the proper way to start the day. And you didn’t waste too much water or time either. 🙂

  3. LOL!! I am not showering in cold water now or ever, inside or out! I can’t even imagine it! My shower may be outside, but it has an abundance of hot water. That is the only way it would work at all, especially at this time of year! But I didn’t know that about Katharine Hepburn and I appreciate the fact–she was a grand lady and a terrific actress!

  4. ‘Kate’ was very frugal. Instead of getting one large rug for a particular space she just stitched together two (actually different sizes to boot) rugs together. She was amazed at how some folks thought she was getting so much money from her movies. She mentioned that some of her ‘residual’ checks from her movies were barely worth the paper they were printed on. I think in her later years she lived with her brother? Kate was also predicative of the folks who let her go about her business and didn’t bother her when she went to the local beach or into town.

I guess if one only had cold water it would have to do. 🙂 I don’t have the space for it …but a nice soaking tub. Well at least you’ve got the hot tub.
