Today is the start of Camp NaNoWriMo, a month long virtual novel writing camp, and I am hoping to write the first draft of my fourth novel. I wrote the prologue today, 1890 words, so I’m off to a good start. I went in to Student Link and marked papers. I did get a couple questions, but mostly I marked papers, catalogued books, and ordered more books. Then after lunch I went to my therapy appointment. I was able to work a bit more on my puzzle and I now have everything done except for the dragon! I had two students to tutor and they ended up back-to-back with no break, so I’m definitely ready to call it a day.

  1. Good luck. I’m still thinking; avoiding doing! I thought NaNoWriMo was October – or is this something different?

  2. This is also National Poetry Writing Month – I forget the abbreviation. I write small stuff everyday. I’ve got bunches of story starts, but just not enough time to make books out of them. Good luck with yours!

  3. Thanks, Libby, and the “real” NaNoWriMo is in November, but they also have two Camp NaNoWriMo’s and this is the first (the second is in July I think). I’ve never done the camp before but I had an idea I wanted to get on with so we’ll see!

  4. Thanks, Jules, and yes it is also NaPoWriMo, which I figure I do with my haiku and tanka each day, but I haven’t really gotten into writing longer poems.
