I worked on my quilt this morning, and now all the pieces of fabric which will ultimately be cut into various animals and birds have their interfacing ironed on.  Now I just need to pin the patterns on and cut them out.  I also worked a bit more on my puzzle.  It is going to take a long time!  I finished a review novel and wrote the review for it.  And while I was doing all this, Eric and Kelly are out running the Cascade Crest 100–a hundred mile ultra run.  Eric has completed it several times (it is an annual August event), and this year he and Kelly are running it together.  He tweeted a little while ago that it was a beautiful day and they had reached mile 24 in 6 hours and 25 min which is 10 min ahead of his predictions for them.  Kelly is feeling good and I’m sure by now they are further along the route.  Eric estimated in an e-mail he sent me that it would take about 31 hours to complete the course.  I can’t even wrap my brain around that!  But I wish them well, and I know it must be nice to do this together!

  1. I remember one of my first jobs – about a mile from where I lived. I walked…a mile in 15 to 20 minutes. Run?!? For 31 hours – eek. Best of luck to them both.
