I worked hard today to get over 10,000 steps for a new fitbit badge (I got my first at 5000 steps in a day earlier this week). I haven’t done this much exercise in years, literally, and my leg muscles are really aching. Today I varied things up a bit by jogging (a little) and walking in a circle around my front yard. It takes 90 steps for each circuit. Oliver goes with me, so more bonding time for us. I also tutored four students and Leigh arrived to start work on a new shower base for my outdoor shower. The painted base doesn’t hold up really well, and there is a piece in it that has to be lifted out to clean the drain, which is more than I care to do (or should do). The new base will be colored cement with the drain in it the way a drain is in a regular shower. It’s all very exciting, but now I need to sit in the sauna and soak in the hot tub.

  1. My one neighbor told me that around our block was about 7/8th of a mile. Not sure how many steps that is. But sometimes I just go up and down the block to the stop signs with the grandchildren. 🙂

  2. Thanks, Lydia. My thighs are much less sore. Calves and feet, not so much. They feel fine while I’m exercising, once I get moving. But not so fine later on. I see my osteopath tomorrow and shall ask her for suggestions as I really do like the aerobic part and my fur friends truly think I’m nuts!
